Coach Tom Chambers in the conversation as one of the most prolific baseball coaches in the city, region and state. With over 40 years dedicated to coaching baseball, Coach Chambers started in 1966-1999, then left to start up a new collegiate baseball program at Cincinnati State. After two seasons, he returned to Withrow to serve as an assistant Coach before once again becoming Head Coach in 2008.

Because of his dedication to teaching and coaching baseball in the inner-city, Coach Chambers developed a start-up program at Riverview East Academy (2009) before moving to Woodward to close out his career in the 2010 season. In addition to coaching baseball, Coach Chambers served as the Cross-Country Coach at Withrow from 1967 to 1971.

Coach Chambers is recognized not only as a Withrow Alumni Hall of Fame inductee, but also for his induction into the 2018 CPS Athletic Hall of Fame due to his exceptional achievements. His overall career record comprises 573 wins, 445 losses, and one tie, reflecting a winning percentage of .563. Throughout his 38 seasons leading the Withrow Tigers, the team claimed nine League Championships and experienced just 11 losing seasons.
